The self-propelled Continuous Work Platform (CWP) consists of a custom locomotive power unit combined with seven articulated short-side gondolas. It incorporates the reliable John Deere 135G excavator, sized to fit within the gondolas, and is capable of operating along the entire length of the work platform to load and offload maintenance materials with unmatched efficiency.

The entire CWP requires less resources (people, locomotives, etc.) saving your operation time and money. Plus, it has its own designated power source, eliminating the need to request a locomotive from another site or operation.

It is the most stable ditching platform in the industry and enables safe and efficient operation for moving material to and from the right-of-way. And, the CWP has the highest-capacity platform for ballast and riprap placement to ensure your rail line always has proper drainage and infrastructure protection.

The versatile platform allows you to move ballast, ties, plates, and strings of rail up to 290 feet long, and is ideal for emergency repairs so you can get your track back into service quickly and safely.

  • Removable bulkhead on the rear gondola allows loading and unloading of the excavator.
  • Permanent curb height of 8” is present at the base of these openings
  • Rear gondola has the option to incorporate a removable rear operator’s cab
  • Rear cab provides a remote point of control with safe operational controls and displays
