Brandt Tractor welcomes public into new, state-of-the-art facility.
Friday, September 11th marked the beginning of a new era in Saskatoon for the world's largest John Deere Construction & Forestry dealer, Brandt Tractor Ltd.. After 23 years of service to the Saskatoon and northern Saskatchewan construction and forestry industry from their location on Millar Avenue in Saskatoon's North Industrial area, Brandt Tractor Ltd. welcomed the public to their brand new 60th Street home on Friday afternoon. Around 400 people, many of them members of the local construction industry, turned out for the event to get a firsthand look at the all-new facility, which represents a well-timed vote of confidence by the company in the continuing strength of the Saskatoon and area economy and its industry base.
“This is a very exciting day for us,” says Brandt President, Shaun Semple. “Our team has worked very hard to create a facility that will be a significant benefit to our customers and demonstrate our rock-solid commitment to the Saskatchewan market and our optimism for the future here.”
Groups spent the afternoon touring the new, larger LEAN-designed facility, created to easily accommodate the growing size range within John Deere's product line; from small skid steer loaders to large Production Class construction and mining equipment, as well as giving local businesses access to a greatly expanded service department and on-hand parts and whole goods inventory.
“We've been fielding a lot of questions from our customers about the new building for the past year or so,” adds Saskatoon Branch Manager, Rod Bowes. “It's great to finally be able to welcome them in, show them around and demonstrate our expanded capacity. It'll definitely be a game-changer in this market.”
Special attendees at the Grand Opening event included VIPs from John Deere, the Honourable Brad Wall, Premier of Saskatchewan and numerous others.
A number of new John Deere Construction and Forestry models never before seen in Saskatchewan were brought in for the event, including Deere's much-anticipated 1050K Production Class dozer, which drew a curious crowd throughout the afternoon and evening. Guests also enjoyed live entertainment, free food and beverages and a long list of door prizes.
The new facility is located at 800-60th Street West (across from SaskTel Centre off of Highway #16 West).
