From Forecast to Snowfall: Brandt's Proactive Approach to Supporting Snow Removal in Mississauga.
April 27, 2026
Regina, Saskatchewan – Snow removal in large cities is no small feat, which is why three of the four companies that were awarded parts of a large snow removal contract for the City of Mississauga chose Brandt as their wheel loader dealer. Not only did these companies get a total of 169 high-quality John Deere wheel loaders, but they also receive second-to-none support from Brandt as they do the crucial, round-the-clock work needed to keep roads in the City of Mississauga clear and safe this winter.
With tenders like these, there is absolutely no room for downtime. Companies commit to clearing snow within specific timeframes and can have their revenues clawed back if a machine is down for too long. They need the support and backing of reliable equipment and dealer support, which is where Brandt comes in.
Brandt’s support for snow removal companies starts even before the snow flies. “We call our customers with large fleets 72 hours before an anticipated snowfall event to ensure that we are mutually ready to go and that nothing is left to chance,” says Michael Marion, branch manager for Brandt Mississauga. Field technicians and parts resources are on standby, and the 24/7/365 call centre is ready to take the call.
But Brandt goes even further than that with their support. Field service technicians stock critical parts kits in their service trucks to ensure a higher likelihood of a quick repair. Other frequently required machine and plow parts are stocked at the branch for easy access, and additional backups are at the attachment suppliers and John Deere’s warehouse nearby, ensuring downtime is kept to a bare minimum. Brandt also provides operator training videos in case companies need to add more staff at the last minute during the season.
“It’s a team effort when you have a high volume of equipment in the market. Our customer service associates call ahead of time to keep the lines of communication open, our parts team prepares parts backups, and our well-trained service team stands by to jump into action. We’re not just selling the product and saying customers are on their own with it. We are prepared to deliver a full-service solution,” Marion says.
The customers that secured these contracts are all current Brandt customers, so they knew they could trust Brandt with such a significant project. “They’re great customers. They knew we’re good at what we do, but I don’t think they really understood the degree to which we’re getting organized, how much we’d collaborate with them, and the depth and degree to which we are preparing for these snow events,” Marion explains. “When the snow starts to fall and they get the call, so do we. We’re in this right beside them.”
Marion is quick to note that, while Brandt has the capacity to handle large projects like the City of Mississauga snow contract, the company also has a wide range of products that support smaller contracts and contractors with their snow plowing needs as well. For example, Brandt’s compact construction division, which sells a wide range of compact skid steer and track loaders, likely has a machine to suit the job. While Brandt primarily sells new equipment, they also offer premium used and certified used machines as well. “We support customers who buy one or two pieces the same way we support our large customers,” he says.
