Big things come in small packages

New John Deere small-frame skid steer loaders and compact track loaders make a big impact.

March 2, 2016

Brandt Tractor is proud to introduce the new Final Tier 4 G-Series skid steers and compact track loaders from John Deere. The five new small-frame units are ideally suited for rental, ag material handling, construction and landscape customers and are full of customer-requested features aimed at improving productivity and uptime, and reducing operating costs.

“These new, more compact machines will meet an important need in the market”, says Van Wall, Brandt's Director of Sales - Worksite Products. “Customers have been asking for a machine that combines small-frame agility with big-frame performance and Deere has delivered it. We're very excited about these new units.”

The G-Series features improved horsepower-to-weight ratios and an optimized boom design, enabling lift heights over 10 feet on the vertical lift models and a 20 percent increase in breakout forces on radial-lift models.

The new vertical-lift design and low-profile rear hood on the 314G (51 hp), 318G (65 hp) and 317G (65 hp) provides excellent all-around visibility and clear sight lines for easier grading in tight spaces.

The radial-lift option on the 312GR (51 hp) and 316GR (61 hp) is perfect for working in confined spaces and offers an exclusive one-person boom lockout system, activated from within the cab, that is ideal when more reach is needed at mid‐range lift.

The 316GR, 318G and 317G offer 24% more engine power and all G-Series machines provide 11% additional fuel capacity. A Yanmar Final Tier 4 engine and hydraulic powertrain provide maximum pushing power, and boom and bucket productivity. The optimized power-to-weight ratio also helps deliver more usable power, resulting in faster cycle times.

The sealed and pressurized cab features a swing-out door and a larger entryway while flat floors allow easier entry and exit and more foot and legroom. A footwell clean-out makes debris management easier than ever, minimizing maintenance and downtime.

The two base models 312GR and 314G include many standard features for the entry-level customer. The higher performance 316GR and 318G models offer additional features and options, including 2-speed, air-conditioning, joystick controls, an enhanced lighting package and a new self-‐level and ride control option featuring shock-absorbing boom cylinders with cushion bumps, helping retain full bucket loads while navigating over rough terrain.

Flexible control choices on the 316GR and 318G allow contractors to choose between standard foot and hand controls, optional hands-only controls or enhanced (EH) joystick controls that are switchable between ISO- and H-patterns.

All G-Series models are compatible with more than 100 available Worksite Pro™ attachments, available from Brandt.
