Brandt was founded in 1932 as a small electrical contractor in Regina, SK, Canada. Gavin Semple joined the company in 1972 and, together with son Shaun, created Brandt Tractor in 1993, becoming John Deere’s exclusive Construction & Forestry dealer in Saskatchewan.
Our business quickly expanded into Manitoba and southern Alberta in 1995 with the establishment of three dealerships and again in 1999 when the company acquired dealerships in Edmonton, Fort McMurray and Grand Prairie. In 2001, a dealership was established in Milton, Ontario and in 2002, as a result of our excellent market share and profit performance, we were able to acquire 13 dealerships in British Columbia. In 2013, five more dealerships were added, this time Atlantic Canada, bringing the total to 27 and making Brandt the largest John Deere Construction & Forestry Equipment Dealer in the world. We further consolidated our presence in Atlantic Canada in 2014 with the acquisition of three more Positioning Technology locations.
Finally, in late 2019, Brandt acquired the Canadian assets of John Deere-owned Nortrax, bringing the total to 56 full-service locations and giving exclusive distribution for Deere Construction & Forestry equipment in Canada.
